Nara, Japan｜Kappo Matsuki

My hotel doesn't have a concierge and I speak very limited Japanese so booking any kaiseki reservation or walking in was challenging. This restaurant warmly welcomed me in and patiently explained every delicious and carefully crafted course. I splurged on the most expensive special set (¥12000) and I have zero regrets. Do yourself a favour and have a relaxing treat here after a day of touring the temples!

An old private house with an atmosphere full of Naramachi atmosphere. Moderate rustic flavor, first-class customer service, and a sense of distance. A lot of delicious dishes without questions. I am always grateful for your help. The rice is always seasonal kamameshi, and they will wrap up what you can't eat.
