Kitakata, Fukushima, Japan｜Bannai Shokudo

As we are around Kitakata area, we had to stop by Bannai Shokudo to try their popular kitakata ramen. There was a queue already once we reached there, glad it was not too long. I ordered the B menu. Not my thing but it was still tasty.

This is the original Bannai Shokudo ramen place. It is popular and there is always waiting line to get in. The soup base in this area is typical clear and is on the light side because people in the area eat ramen for breakfast, sometimes the simpler the better. I will come back again if I visit the area again.

My new favorite 😻 Said to be among the three best ramens in Japan. Niku soba 🍜 肉そば ¥1,000. Not heavy. Deep, rich flavor. I didn’t add anything to the broth and drank it all. I waited about 20 mins on a Sunday afternoon. Things seem to slow down around 3 pm. Hope to rerun someday with family and friends. Wow. I understand why there is a Ramen Shrine ⛩ at the end of the street. This place is Mecca.
