Hiroshima, Japan｜Teppan Shokudō

Delicious okonomiyaki here! No English menu but just watch what the locals eat and take your pick. Even better: sit up and watch the chefs cook on the big hot plate! Staff are so friendly, this is a great little neighbourhood restaurant.

I had a soba ball and a seafood white sauce roll. In addition to the soba noodles, the seafood white sauce roll is also delicious! ! Choose the recommended udon. It contains seafood, udon shiso leaves, and cheese, and it's so delicious. Since it contains udon and cheese, I thought it would be tough, but the shiso leaves give it a nice lightness that makes it easy to eat. The white sauce is also excellent and not too heavy. Is it a secret? ? It's been a long time since I've had such delicious food, all of which blended together in my mouth without any fighting. During my trip to Hiroshima, I really wanted to try Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, so I looked for a restaurant, but every restaurant turned me down and I was at a loss. The restaurant I entered thinking this would be the last time was Teppan Shokudo. It was a restaurant that required reservations, but I was able to get in at the right time. I could tell that the shop owner was also very personable. I really appreciate it. I don't know when I'll be able to go to Hiroshima next, but this is a restaurant I definitely want to visit again. Entered the store before 13:00 on weekdays. I was the only customer, but I was guided to the counter. I ordered the most orthodox soba meat balls (800 yen). Perhaps they had prepared some pieces for grilling in advance (?), so they placed the meat on the half-finished pieces that were placed on the edge of the iron plate and began grilling. It took about 10 minutes for the food to be served on the iron plate where I sat. The sauce is a bit small, and if it's not enough, I add the carp sauce that is placed at the table. The inside is fluffy and the noodles are crispy, the perfect balance. Before I started eating, I thought it wasn't much, but after I finished eating it, I was pretty full. It's about a 10-pound walk from Hiroshima Station, but it's cheaper and less crowded than the shops in the station building, so I recommend it. The store's motto is "Make ordinary things great!" I would also like to stop by when I come to Hiroshima.
