Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan｜Katsuissen

We arrived for late dinner (around 7:30) and had to wait approximately 45 min to to be seated. The food is delicious, especially the “ jewels of Hokkaido “ , scallops, mushroom miso and unagi sushi. Amazing selection of sake too! The staff are kind and very accommodating, they do speak English as well. Definitely gonna consider to come back for a second time on our last night in Sapporo. Prices are reasonable

Incredible sushi, appraisers, drinks and the SERVICE ! I ate at this restaurant far more than any other restaurant in my 3 weeks in Sapporo. They have a vast assortment of fish and seafood , with daily specials. A ++ all the way …

A new favorite place in town. This was exactly the sort of sushi restaurant I’ve been looking for. I waited for about 15 minutes at 4 on a Saturday (one person), and was sat next to the conveyer (which they are currently not using for food). Sushi was delicious: I’m a bit of a sushi coward so I stuck with salmon and tuna but both were among the best I’ve had. I also had the fried squid tentacles, which were also really good, and finished with a frozen tart-like thing. The menu was vast, and they also offer deep fried and seared seafood as well as some vegetarian options. Ordering was done very easily on a tablet, which had English, Chinese and possibly Korean options. There was free at-seat hot water for matcha. Staff were very friendly and it was nice to be able to see the chefs at work in the centre of the restaurant. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place. The price for quite a lot of food came to about ¥1800 (about €10) - extremely reasonable I thought. Note it is on the B1 (basement) level of the shopping centre - not the ground floor as noted on the Google Maps listing.
