Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, Japan｜Unagi Ebiya

Stopped by the nice smells of foods when passing by. The staffs are quite friendly to foreigners who can only speak a little Japanese like us. The grilled eel over rice set is delicious and its price is reasonable as well (super cheap comparing to the ones in Tokyo.) Moreover, the grilled chicken is much more delicious than we expected. Really recommend that dish. We had a great time there. The shop owner (5th owner) also guided us around the restaurant and introduce some paints on the Japanese doors (husuma or something?) Considering the building itself is an antique (more than a century or so, well-maintained and clean), it's worth visiting even just for a short stay. We were satisfied by the food and the atmosphere there.

Despite not having an English menu, I was able to order using the photos available on Google Maps and they were very accommodating. The eel was very tasty

Unagi-no Ebiya is a very famous Unagi restaurant in Aizu-wajamatsu city. The eel, Unagi in Japanese, is steamed and baked with a sweeten Saui-sourc. The cooked Unagi is served with rice by the side or on the rice. The price of set menu cheap relatively speaking to in Tokyo. You have a choice of big or middle size. The big one is recommend. The restaurant is very old and you can enjoy a traditional Japanese life style.
