More Comments at Google MapThe food was delicious in this upscale restaurant in the heart of Old Karuizawa. The 3 bean appetizer, and the raw vegetables with miso dip appetizer were yummy and plenty for 6 of us. Then came our delicious meals of sweet and sour pork with vegetables, beef stew, mackerel fish, miso soup and rice set, and pork shoulder. Everyone was happy with their delicious dinner choices. To top it off we shared amazing Japanese roasted tea crème brûlée. The waitress brought small bowls and spoons so we could all have a little taste. It was excellent fast service in a sophisticated cozy atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation because it’s popular and fills up quickly. English menu available upon request.
Our group of 4 was ushered to the second floor for seating, and we had the egg omelette and fried tofu for appetisers, which were good starters. We had grilled chicken, grilled mackerel set, and sake lees marinated pork shoulder. The food was cooked to perfection and we enjoyed all the dishes. We also tried the Japanese roasted tea infused crème brûlée based on online reviews shared by others and we greatly enjoyed it. The tea taste in the dessert was unique, and the sweetness was balanced by the tea which was served together with the crème brûlée. Great place to go for a meal.
First of all, you have limited choices for dinner along the old ginza street in Karuizawa. Nevertheless, I will still highly recommend to drop by this restaurant. Place is cozy and staff services are very good as well. Importantly it also got English menu 😃. I pretty like the dishes that cooked with miso that made in Nagano prefecture, it taste a bit sweeter and less salty as compared to Hida Miso. I have no try the butaniku(pork) but I think it should be delicious as well.
