More Comments at Google Map« Takahashi no Wakadori », or Wakadori’s chicken, is a must on your way to ski, drive, or hiking, for a beautiful piquenique. Established since 1977, it is a very well-known address for the locals. Chicken is prepared with or without bone, teriyaki style, steamed -grilled or roasted. The shop only offers take out. Prices are very reasonable, depending on the size of the piece of the chicken. 300 yens to 500 yens per piece. A full roasted chicken costs around 1,500 yens. Parking is easy just in front of the shop. You have to go up the small slope. Shop is open normally from 10am to 5pm but it mays runs out of meat so it is recommended you go there earlier or make a prior phone call.
I ordered the boneless teriyaki and it was very tasty. The employees were friendly and helpful.
There are two parking lots, and I used the first one, but there were many cars parked in front of the store along the arrow. Arrived at 9:50 on a Saturday in October. There are already customers, and more and more will come later. As expected, it's a popular store. There are two options on the menu: ``steamed'' and ``teriyaki,'' but the seasoning and grilling method are the same, with the only difference being the presence or absence of bones. Prices vary slightly depending on size. The birds are domestically produced and are only used if they are less than 50 days old. I wanted to hold the bone and bite into it, so I chose the steamed grilled dish (370 yen). I bought 4 bottles, warmed them up at home, and when I ate them, they were soft, well-seasoned, and delicious. Costco's rotisserie chicken is dry, but you'll be surprised at the difference.
