Kawaba, Gunma, Japan｜小住温泉 食事処

Had an absolutely lovely time at this beautiful onsen! The hospitality of the staff was outstanding, easily the most welcoming onsen we visited on our trip. There is a male and a female section with indoor and outdoor pools (highly recommend the outdoor pools as you have a great outlook onto the mountain side and can hear the water from the stream that wraps around the building). There are showers with soap and shampoo provided so it is a great place to stop and rejuvenate. There is also a restaurant adjoined with good food which is reasonably priced (definitely can recommend the pork cutlet!) For those touring the country side by camper van there is a michi-no-eki about 15mins down the road so this is a great place to drop in at the end of the day. Would love to stop by here again next time we're in Japan!

A day-trip hot spring facility located near Akaya Valley. There is an indoor bath and an open-air bath. The hot spring water is a little hotter than your skin, but it doesn't feel like it puts a lot of pressure on your skin. (It feels like a hot spring for beautiful skin) There is also a restaurant, and after taking a bath, I had a ginger-grilled set meal to replenish the minerals lost in the hot springs. The ginger-grilled sauce was really easy to eat with a sweet and spicy seasoning that should invite rice. The water is so delicious!

I've been here since morning. The staff were still working hard to clean it. Only 5 people met in the bath. It was almost a charter. The rest room on the second floor was also very beautiful. The Hokkien set meal was also delicious.
