Ashikaga, Tochigi, Japan｜手打そば 八蔵

Visited around 11:50 on September 17, 2023. The shop is just a little inside from the street. The parking lot is also small, so please be careful. When I entered the store through the noren curtain, I was greeted with a ``Welcome'' message. The store itself doesn't seem to be that big, but all the employees there were really nice to deal with. I sat at a table near the entrance and ordered a katsudon set (cold soba). It wasn't long before the bowl arrived, and the soba noodles were just regular mori soba, a small katsudon, simmered dishes, and pickles, all of which made me smile. The buckwheat noodles are not too sweet and have sharp edges. Add some smooth soba noodles and slurp. "delicious" what is it? Although the soba noodles are short, they go down easily! Let's move on. The katsudon has a sweet flavor, but the soba noodles aren't too sweet, so it's well-balanced 🎵 The inside of the store doesn't seem spacious. Furthermore, most of the customers seemed to be acquaintances from the local area, and were close friends with the staff. Although it felt a little like being away from home, the store staff treated us in a pleasant manner. It was delicious❗ Thank you for the meal❗

Although it is a little far from the center of Ashikaga city, it is truly a hidden gem! There are many soba restaurants in Ashikaga, but I felt like this one is loved by the locals (many of them are regulars, they're neighbors!) *When I arrived, the parking lot was full. *Quite a popular store♪ Today's order Draft beer, toriwasa, tempura, mini tempura bowl set, and chicken tempura bowl set! *Visit the store with three people♪ Tenmori consists of 3 shrimp and kisses. The mini kakiage and dried noodles were crunchy and went well with the soba soup, making it very delicious! The soba-yu at the end is not a smooth soba-yu, but a thick soba-yu, which I personally love! *I couldn't help but have delicious kakiage, so next time I'll try the kakiage bowl (with shio or sauce)! It is a homely and reasonable shop. I love soba noodles that go down my throat. It is crowded with regulars during lunchtime, so we recommend visiting at different times.
