Nikko, Tochigi, Japan｜Ryojo-an

A little canteen for serving small snacks with a waterfall view. We ordered curry breads slightly sweet crust with yummy curry inside) and cheese candles (rice dough covered and served with ketchup). Nothing fancy but we enjoyed sitting on the terrace and having a quick bite before catching our bus.

You can spend here some time enjoying a cup of coffee or some traditional snacks while watching the waterfall. Service can be a little bit slow, but on the other hand, don’t be in a hurry, just take a breath and spend some more precious moments in this wonderful nature space

This is a cafe attached to Ryuzu no Chaya. It is a very relaxing place with a view of Ryuzu Falls. The master is polite and kind. Roasted coffee beans are ground and dripped on the spot. I love coffee, and I thought the aroma and taste were very good. There is a promenade where you can enjoy trekking from the side of Ryuzu no Chaya to the upstream side of the waterfall. Most of the roads are paved and stairs, so you can enjoy it safely even if you are lightly dressed. There is a parking lot upstream, so you can enjoy a round-trip trek, or you can do a one-way trek if you have someone drive your car. You can have a light meal at Ryuzu no Chaya, or enjoy a cafe time at Ryojoan. There are also toilets nearby.
