Ichikai, Tochigi, Japan｜ふじよし

Think friendly mom-and-pop diner, but Japanese home style fare, with a liquor license. So, large portions, very reasonable prices, and orthodox flavors. Especially worthwhile are the "teishoku" set menus --- a main entree (fish, pork, or chicken) accompanied by miso soup, Japanese pickles, Japanese style salad, rice, and fruit, for ¥700-¥1000. It's also "izakaya" style, so good also for simply drinks and side dishes (sashimi, fried dishes, stews, etc.).

I visited at noon. There is volume. Lunch is a little crowded, but it's charming.

It was so delicious! The fried chicken set meal was 780 yen with 200g of fried chicken that had a thin and crispy batter and a strong taste of meat. The rice was also delicious. Anyway, there are many menus such as set meals, rice bowls, and noodles, and I thought that I would not get tired of going there every day.
