Lovely family run restaurant set in a 250 year old house with traditional features. Its a very traditional restaurant. We had the sauce katsudon set, which had udon noodles in a soup, pork cutlet on rice and salad and sides of pickles. Although the menu is in Japanese the owner is so friendly and can speak English well, he’s happy to explain the choices to you. We came in cycling and were dripping wet, they went above and beyond to get us dry again.

I had the pork bowl set. The meat was tender and the sauce was excellent. The set half udon (cold) was soft and delicious while having a waist. I've survived this summer with only natural ventilation and a fan without using an air conditioner, but it's also windy, so I wonder if this summer will be on the verge.

I had a sauce katsudon set at an old private house in Nikkoji! It looks like a friendly shop run by a friendly elderly couple. The thickness of the sauce cutlet bowl was thick and soft, and the sauce was not so thick, so it was very delicious! The bamboo shoots in the small bowl were not too seasoned and were crispy and delicious. A moment to forget about everyday life while being healed by the scenery of the countryside! Next time I would like to try pork bowl and shaved ice.
