Nikko, Tochigi, Japan｜レストラン たしろ

Located across the street from the Kinugawaonsen station, this little gem offers dishes made with Tochigi beef. I tried the roast beef bowl. It’s served with a topping made out of grated daikon and brown mustard. The rice is topped with toasted sesame seeds before adding a layer of sliced Tochigi beef. The meat was so tender. The Australian house wine a nice medium-bodied red. The people working here were friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant gave off a relaxing feel, adding to the dining experience. The only downside is that it’s located on the third floor and accessed only by stairs. I don’t think English is available, either.

Lovely little restaurant on the 3rd floor, was ushered up very easily by friendly staff members at the shop on the bottom. Beef bowl was SO GOOD. The bowl set lunch also included a salad and coffee and dessert, all for ¥3080 which is pretty darn nice for what you get. Great lunch experience!

We ordered wagyu roast beef bowl and wagyu fillet steak…so yum! Chef is very nice, cares in every detail, thank you for taking very good care of us!
