At Nikko, we had dinner at this place for both nights as the food and service are very good. This place is run by an elderly couple who are very friendly and hospitable throughout our dinner. The place has a very traditional Japanese atmosphere. It is a very short walk from JR Nikko station. They have English menu avaliable and all prices are transparent. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality you get. They also converse with us through translation tools to keep us engaged throughout the dinner. This is a must try if you like Sushi, we miss the fatty tuna already.

Excellent sushi quality-value ratio. Highly recommended. One block from JR Nikko train station, behind Nikko Station Hotel Classic. The older couple plus one kitchen assistant take good care of their customers and pride in their small traditional sushi restaurant. The gentleman prepares the sushi freshly per order expertly in plain sight. The lady serves you gently. Expect around ¥2000 per person in food. Unless you go for the fatty tuna, then double this. Great large sake for 2 for ¥1100. Not to be missed when in Nikko.

A very homely and cosy environment! This place is run by an elderly couple who were very hospitable. Helping us with our jackets and immediately providing us with water. For context, I stayed inthe Nikko station hotel right behind this place and was looking for an authentic yet nearby restaurant for dinner and chanced upon this place. Although the food variety isn't too extensive, the food is very authentic. The seafood I had was all very fresh and watching the chef prepare it in front of us was like a spectacle. Overall, if I were to return to Nikko, I'd definitely come back here again.
