Nasu, Tochigi, Japan｜Suisha no Sato Mizuhogura

A restaurant based on the concept of nostalgic cuisine using pot-cooked rice and miso. I used it at noon on weekdays. Even though it was a weekday, it was crowded with many customers. I got in in a timely manner with no waiting time. There may be a waiting time on Saturdays and Sundays. I was also interested in the Nasu Wagyu beef and fillet cutlet, but I ordered Inakazen, which seemed to be the simplest way to enjoy pot-cooked rice. By the looks of it, 60 to 70% of the customers ordered Inakazen. I was surprised how fast it was, about 5 minutes after ordering lol The rice is rich, fluffy, sweet, and delicious. The most delicious thing was the pork soup, which was so sweet and deep that I wanted a second helping! The parking lot is wide and easy to park.

Anticipating it to be crowded, I visited on a weekday around 2pm. However, there was still a short line outside the store, and I was the fifth person in line. While you wait, you can enjoy shopping at the souvenir shop next door while looking at the new rice and mochi barley! The interior of the restaurant is an old wooden house with a quaint atmosphere. I ordered the country meal from the menu. Even though it's only 1,300 yen, it's filling and you can get unlimited refills of the ohitsu rice! Three guys went there and had two refills lol. The rice, side dishes, and eggs were all delicious😭 If you come to Nasushiobara, I definitely recommend having lunch here!

I visited last winter and it was closed for the winter, so I suddenly remembered and stopped by. The price seemed a bit high for lunch, but I was so satisfied with the meal that I forgot about the price. I ordered Nasu chicken set for 1,700 yen. The contents include homemade tartare & Nasu chicken, fried eggplant, freshly cooked ``Kamado-cooked rice'', homemade pork soup from Nasu pork, and today's pickles. Everything was carefully made, the taste was outstanding, the visuals were outstanding, the quantity was perfect, and I could feel the deliciousness in every detail. Thank you for your meal😋
