Okayama, Japan｜Sai Shokudo

The name Sai Shokudo is cute, but it was a very filling restaurant! The inside of the store is also very cute and looks great in photos! It was so delicious that I went there twice in one week! I had a set meal of chicken nanban and chicken nanban & fried horse mackerel! The tartar sauce on the chicken nanban is packed with ingredients, and you can eat it with just a little rice.It's seriously delicious. The meat and horse mackerel were huge and the koromo was crispy and really delicious! The fried horse mackerel was also fluffy and crispy. The bones were well removed and it was easy to eat. It seemed like a lot of people were taking it home as it was quite a large amount! The store staff is also kind and I highly recommend it!

Visited the store on Friday in January 2024. (I think students are on winter break.) I ordered a fried horse mackerel set meal! It opened at 12:00 and I arrived at the store by 10 minutes, but there were already customers inside. The set meal arrived in a little over 10 minutes after ordering. You can choose the amount of rice: small, average, or large. (Water was self-serve.) I ordered a drink with the set meal set. You can choose to have it as soon as it's done or after your meal. I asked for it as soon as possible. It arrived a few minutes after the set meal arrived. The volume was really amazing! I couldn't finish it, so I asked for some to take home. I was given a plastic container and bag, so I filled it with my own chopsticks. that's all. It was a nice shop! When I arrived at the store, there were several groups in line right away, so I think it would be better to go when it's open.

This is my first review. I ordered the chicken cutlet set meal. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere, but the set meals are quite filling. It's a large chicken cutlet topped with demi-glace sauce, and comes with potato salad, pickles, and chicken wings on the side. If you can't finish all the food, you can get a container to take home. Perhaps because Okayama University is nearby, there were many young customers who appeared to be university students. I think even students will get full. I'll come back later.
