Bokai Retro Restaurant “Karago” Ushimado for the first time in a while. I found this retro restaurant by the sea by chance. It seems like it's only a couple doing it, so it takes a while, but once you open the shoji and enter the spacious private room, you can see the Seto Inland Sea through the large opening. Countless yachts float off the coast. This is a hidden gem. I ordered the sashimi set meal for 1,220 yen and waited patiently. The cat that greets you is also a big plus.

I was actually planning to go to a different restaurant, but I couldn't make a reservation, so I ended up coming here. If you call in advance, they will ask you to order by phone for 6 people. As expected, it seemed like the husband and wife were managing the whole thing. There was a cat at the entrance who was not moving at all, and when I entered the store while straddling it, the view from the window of the tatami room was amazing, as if I was floating on the sea, as it was on a hill in front of the sea. All the dishes are reasonably priced and very delicious! Please be sure to ask what kind of sashimi you want before eating the sashimi set meal, it was very unusual.

I used it for lunch on a holiday. It seems to be a popular restaurant, so when I contacted them and asked, they prepared a large tatami room with a view of the sea in front. I ordered a sashimi (upper) set meal and a Karako set meal. The sashimi, such as amberjack, pike conger, and tiger prawn, is fresh and voluminous. It sounds like a cliché when it comes to freshness, but the texture was so crunchy that I thought I had just caught it. For those who don't like sashimi, we recommend the Karako set meal. In addition to plenty of grilled fish and dashimaki omelet, salads and desserts are also plentiful. Thoroughly enjoyed. The owner and staff are both veterans, so please be patient while waiting for your food.
