More Comments at Google MapIf you are in Hinase make sure to stop at Hori Okonomiyaki for lunch or dinner. The oysters are in season during the winter so show up early to get a seat!
I went to the Kakioko store in Hinase Town for the first time! I usually eat kakioko, but I actually had okonomiyaki yesterday, so today I had oyster teppanyaki, oyster yakisoba, and oyster yakimeshi! In particular, the teppanyaki oysters were amazing!
🚗If you drive, enter the alley from National Route 250 and there is a parking lot diagonally across from the store. It's cramped, but I think you can park about 7 cars. 🏍️The motorcycle parking lot is located opposite the Bizen Shinkin Bank along National Route 250 (behind the store). I went by 🚃JR🍺Beer & Kakioko pattern Walk southwest along National Route 250 in front of JR Hinase Station for about 10 to 15 minutes, and when you see the supermarket on your left, go to the alley on your right. The landmark of the okonomiyaki restaurant “Hori”, which was founded in 1963, is its yellow-green exterior. “Kakioko” is a soul food that has been loved in Nisse since ancient times. Over 50 years ago, oyster farming began in Hinase. At that time, oyster shuckers brought oysters that could not be sold and put them in okonomiyaki, which is how oyster-filled okonomiyaki began. This shop is where the name Kakioko was born on January 26, 2001. During oyster season, there are 5 to 10 groups in line when the store opens at 10 a.m. (on weekends), and on weekdays, there are about 5 groups in line. I try to arrive 30 minutes early. When you arrive at the restaurant, write down your name and number of people, look at the menu next to the entrance, and decide on the dishes. When I was called for the first time, I was asked about the dish. When you enter the restaurant after being called for the second time, the food is served without waiting too long. When lining up 🚻Enter the restroom through the back door on the west side. People who are likely to wait a long time, people who have time to spare after eating Why not go to “Gomi no Ichi” and “Minato no Mieru Oka Park” (details at the bottom) The store has an L-shaped counter seat and two table seats for a total of 16 seats. There is also an iron plate at the table so you can eat hot. It's also nice to wait with a beer in hand while watching the kakioko being prepared at the counter. If you only order oysters, we recommend ordering extra oysters (1200 yen). If you want oyster flavor, try the oyster teppanyaki (500 yen). In addition to the two, I also ordered a bottled beer (500 yen)😋 Kakioko is made in the Hiroshima style, and the finished product is a little soft. The dough is made with a special soup stock passed down from the previous generation. Roll out the creamy egg-filled dough into a circular shape and shred cabbage. Sprinkle green onions, tenkasu, and bonito flakes Place the oysters on top, swirl the batter around lightly, then turn over and steam-fry. Finally, crack the raw egg on the iron plate and crush it with a trowel. Place the fried kakioko on top and it's done. Finished with original blend sauce and bonito flakes The okonomiyaki sauce, spicy sauce, bonito flakes, and green seaweed on the table are your choice. We also have pickled ginger and shichimi. I put spicy sauce on it and then take a bite. I like pouring beer while huffing in my mouth. Teppanyaki is oysters sprinkled with salt and stir-fried. Before the oysters are cooked, add green onions and wait for a while and it's done. This one is light with ponzu sauce, and if you add shichimi in the middle, the beer will go well. You can fry the oysters quickly on a hot iron plate, so you can enjoy the plumpness of the oysters and the flavor of the ocean. By the way, the ponzu sauce is homemade. We also recommend “yakisoba with oysters” and “sobameshi”, a local gourmet dish that originated in Kobe. Regular holiday is Wednesday When I went there on February 17, 2023, I noticed that the third Thursday of the month was also a regular holiday. Gomi City (3 minutes by car) You can buy souvenirs at fish markets etc. Eat at food stalls and seafood barbecue 🆗 There is a parking lot and toilet available. Minato no Mieru Oka Park (5 minutes by car) A park with an observation deck, promenade, and parking plaza located near the top of Mt. Tatekoshi. From the observation plaza, you can see the entire Hinase area including Hinase Port. You can be happy (supposedly...)🔔There's a bell
