Nagi, Okayama, Japan｜Matsubokkuri

Matsubokkuri is a lovely restaurant set back in a forest. From a distance, it reminded me of a house from Lord of the Rings. The interior is spacious and the tables have a view of the beautiful garden and mountains. I had the teriyaki deer and my friend had the beef stew. Bot were absolutely delicious. I will be returning to try the other dishes and the desserts.

Strolling around Nagi Town It was raining that day so I didn't feel like going anywhere, so I went to Matsubokkuri, which is near the prefectural border between Nagi Town and Tottori, to see if there's a place I haven't been to yet! I heard that Mai-no-Ishi-chan came here a long time ago! The store is surrounded by nature, and the parking lot can accommodate 11 cars, which was great. When you go inside, you'll see that it's a log cabin building with lots of stuffed birds and deer on display, so it might be a little scary for small children. When I looked at the menu, what really caught my eye was the fried shrimp set meal! It's a little pricey, but two huge fried shrimps arrived on the plate! The batter was crispy and the shrimp inside were extremely plump and delicious! Mont Blanc ice cream for dessert! This is also delicious! It was a restaurant that I would want to come back to again! This is a store that I definitely recommend!

Since I was a duck fan, I ordered the duck hotpot set meal, and my wife ordered the duck meat udon. I thought duck might have some peculiar taste, but it turned out to be not the case, and the meat was tender and delicious. Best of all, the soup stock for the hot pot and udon noodles is absolutely delicious. I also had Mont Blanc after the meal, and it had a very gentle taste. Although I was from outside the prefecture, I would like to stop by again if I have a chance.
