More Comments at Google MapGreat Soba and Tempura. This family-owned restaurant has some history dated back to the Edo period, and it is a hidden gem in the residential area near Kakegawa Castle. If you order tempura and soba separately, it will be slightly expensive, but if you order it as a set, it is reasonable. An ala carte tempura menu includes locally sourced produces. Very relaxing music and ambience.
On the way back from going to Kakegawa Castle for cherry blossom viewing (there were several people in ninja costumes who were able to take pictures), I visited Masakichi, who had good reviews, for the first time. I was at a loss with the menu, but I ordered "Tempura soba" recommended by the staff. There are four types of soba: Seiro soba, Inaka soba, Kuroko soba, and Juwari soba. The soba noodles are chewy and go down very well, which may be the best I've ever eaten. The tempura is fried in a blend of two types of oil, cottonseed oil and pure sesame oil, making it crispy and delicious. The price is reasonable, but it is worth it and it is sure to repeat. The whole family said, "It was delicious!" It made me smile.
Juwari soba was really delicious The tempura kakiage also has sakura shrimp in it. It tasted nice and crispy
