Fuji, Shizuoka, Japan｜The Shoan

This was my first time using the upstream Fujikawa service area. I received the tuna pickled rice bowl and warm soba set for 920 yen from this shop on the third floor. It was a great experience to have a meal while looking at the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji. It's self-service, but I don't think I'm the only one who feels very luxurious.

This is a business trip from Tokyo. Going up the Tomei Expressway, Fujikawa SA is a must on the way back. I only go to the Rakuza in the back. Of all the Shōan restaurants in Shizuoka, the one that I have only eaten here is the shirasu kakiage. I think it's worth going back to Tomei No. 1 for this rice bowl instead of the convenient No. 2 Tomei train. Whitebait kakiage bowl, cold soba set, and cherry shrimp kakiage. I like this combination the most. Too delicious. I have never eaten or seen shirasu kakiage anywhere else. Mt. Fuji is right in front of you! The special seats are always empty.

I've always loved the sakura shrimp kakiage here. Crispy and crispy, each Sakura shrimp is fried one by one. The soba noodles are firm and chewy, and are very delicious. Kakiage is delicious when eaten with salt, but it is also delicious when dipped in soba soup.
