Love the authentic and hearty hospitality from this family owned lodge, right next to trailhead of Subashiri route. I was debating which trail to take for Mt. Fuji hike, by chance I contacted this lodge recommended by a friend of mine. Within the same day, a kind ojichan phoned me and told me they are available on the night I’d wish for. Although my Japanese isn’t great at all, I could feel his sincerity and kindness, my trail selection became all so obvious. Accommodation is comfortable and spacious I’d say if comparing to those at upper huts. In addition they also sell all kinds of souvenirs and gears for hiking if needed. Most importantly, I don’t like crowds, this area is rather peaceful, at night from the room, was able to enjoy super bright full blue moon! Asked obaachan to prepare onirigis for hiking, it was a great support and yummy too! Many thanks! Hope to see you all again!

2nd time visiting and climbing Mt Fuji. Great experience for sure but the crowds have gotten out of control. Spend time in the wonderful cities around the base of Mt Fuji

When I arrived at this station, I was wandering around. There was an old lady who was preparing soup and food for the new hikers. It was early in the morning and I liked to drink sth warm. This old lady brought local self made soup and it was delicious. I went inside the shop and the husband brought me green tea. The taste was amazing and the behaviour was super. Such nice and civilized beings. They were giving also tips and they were trying to speak to me in English but that was not easy. However their attempt was great
