Minamiashigara, Kanagawa, Japan｜金太郎茶屋

We were really surprised to see a restaurant up here. And it had vegetarian food! We really enjoyed it, even though it might be a bit plain for others.

After an exhausting hour or so of trekking, my wife and I stopped here for a pot of green tea at the summit, before making our descent. The lady who runs this place is absolutely lovely and was very kind to us, giving us free snacks with our tea and taking photos for us. She even asked us if we wanted to dress up as the legendary axe wielding Kintaro, who is said to live on the mountain! Sadly, when we were there, Mt.Fuji was not visible, but this lovely lady (and her pet cat) more than made up for it! Be sure to follow her new Instagram account: @kintarou1212

The best Yamagoya. I always stop in here for a quick bite. And the Oba-chan is the sweetest. She loves trail runners.
