Sanda, Hyogo, Japan｜Sandaya Honten, Yasuraginosato

My 2nd visit to Sandaya Honten and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was a birthday lunch for my mother-in-law and the staff were wonderful, even arranging for the pianist to sing Happy Birthday with all the staff joining in. 😊 Most haven't heard of Sanda beef: it's wonderful. Here it comes to you raw on a hot plate and then you move it around the plate or on to the vegetables so that you get the cook that you want. Even if you manage to overcook it, the meat is still soft and juicy. The price might seem high (¥9,900 for 180g) but it includes all sides and dessert so worthwhile given the quality. The venue is also very spacious. If you want to splurge on a meal in Japan, this is a good place to do it. 👍

This is one of the most famous restaurants in Sanda. The service is excellent and the facilities are amazing. The beef and ham are consistently delicious. This truly is a wonderful restaurant, and I have enjoyed every visit. I have updated my review to 5 stars. (Originally I gave 4 stars because I felt the prices were high, but my opinion now is that this restaurant is worth the price and deserves a visit.) If you are just in the mood for coffee, there is a smaller coffee shop next to the main restaurant. It is a great place to relax.
