This is a small indoor cafe (about 10 seats). It also has a bench seating area outside. The view over the rice fields is beautiful, and the local community love this cafe. The owner is very kind, and an excellent cook and baker. The food is fresh, seasonal and local. You feel so healthy afterwards! It's a very good price. There's a small area with some items to buy too, such as biscuits souvenirs with the town mascot for Akiota. The drive is a little mountainous, but very doable. There is a good sized carpark. I highly reccomend to visit this place. Thank you!

I love this cafe! My friend and I went today and we ordered the lunch plate and the rice flour pizza (not gluten free). Both were soooo good! Lots of veggies that were fresh and prepared different ways. We also ordered their strawberry cheesecake and fresh mint tea. Oh my…. The fresh mint tea was amazing, and the strawberry cheesecake was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had. They also make cookies with rice flour that is made from the rice grown right there in the terraced fields. These are gluten free and I would not have known they were gluten free if they hadn’t told me. So good! I bought some to take home. We sat at the window and had a beautiful view of the terraced rice fields. There’s outdoor seating also, but it was raining pretty hard so we decided to sit inside today. There’s parking right below the cafe.

We loved this little cafe by the rice terraces! It was cozy and you absolutely cannot beat the view! We arrived late afternoon, so many items on the menu were sold out. We enjoyed coffee and a small plate sampler. It is the perfect place to rest and enjoy the view! The staff were warm and welcoming.
