More Comments at Google MapI went to the okonomiyaki restaurant "Kaen" in Minosato-cho, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It may be difficult to find it by passing by as it is located in a residential area, but I found it using Google Maps. I love that you can eat on the iron plate at both the L-shaped counter and table seats. I had meatball soba topped with squid tempura and Onomichi's specialty sand zuri. Okonomiyaki with sand zuri is called Onomichiyaki. When I saw it being baked, I saw that it also contained kamaboko and chikuwa. No matter where you cut it, the sand comes out and it has a nice crunchy texture and is delicious. In addition to sauce, there are fishmeal, green seaweed, pepper, and shichimi on the table, and the fishmeal is especially recommended. Most of the customers were locals, and the normal Nikutama soba was very reasonably priced for just one coin. I wanted to go again.
I am thankful that there is a parking lot and that I can eat on an iron plate (^_^)v If you have a large car, there may be no problem if you park at the same time it opens... You can eat it with your favorite toppings (raw squid, sunazuri, egg, 1 ball of soba) There is water and oolong tea available for you to drink yourself. 2 tables for 4 people and a counter Even if you go to eat alone, the owner is friendly so I don't think it will be a problem.
You can enjoy home-style okonomiyaki. The price is reasonable and even with all the toppings it's cheap. We recommend the cabbage double, which will double the amount. There is a parking lot for about 4 cars and it gets full at times. I'm satisfied with the base price of 400 yen, but you can also have the egg, soba, and cabbage double for around 600 yen. It seems that they are planning to eat in the store from next week.
