Maibara, Shiga, Japan｜久次郎

The weather was nice and it was hot that day, so I wanted to eat something refreshing, so I stopped by Soba Kaido. It looked like an old folk house and was worth more than the price. The tempura had seasonal vegetables, and each dish was served in a small bowl so it was cute, very satisfying and delicious. Also, the owner who showed me around here had apparently been introduced to the restaurant on TV. I couldn't help but buy a rat radish, also known as the rat's tail, at a nearby roadside station and go home. There were several Soba Kaido restaurants nearby. On this day, there was a constant line of people waiting to get in, and it seemed like there was no shortage of customers.

I stopped by before the lunch peak and received a set of Bokkake Soba and seasonal vegetable tempura. Kujiro's soba noodles were chewy and delicious.

Enjoy freshly made soba noodles and crispy fried tempura. Both the soba noodles and vegetables are homemade by the owner and are highly recommended. ⚠Please note that we are only open for lunch time (11:00-14:00) on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
