Staff speak no English at all, but very kind and accommodating. Food was good and plentiful.

Visited on September 25, 2022 Please be completely hungry when you enter here 😊😊😊 This store surprised me three times. First surprise: When I was handed the menu, there were only items over 3,300 yen! ! Genya set meal was 3,300 yen, with ayu sashimi it was 4,200 yen, eel bowl was 3,300 yen, and eel set meal was about 4,000 yen.There were 4 types in total. Although I was nervous, I decided to take the plunge and ordered the Genya set meal with ayu sashimi (4,200 yen). Second surprise: This is not a set meal, but a course meal! ️🤣 3 salt-grilled sweetfish (salt, lemon, miso to taste) plus 6 sweetfish in candied, fried, and sashimi lol The rest was a small bowl of rice with miso soup, fruit, and mushrooms. I didn't expect it to come in such a huge set, so I ended up making a large portion. There was a fish tank right next to the shop, so I think they use farmed sweetfish (the water is very clean). As you can imagine, the taste is delicious! I ate sweetfish milt for the first time in my life, and the smooth texture went well with the rice 😆 I couldn't really taste the sashimi, but it was meaty and chewy. In terms of Ayu's physical constitution, it has more muscle than fat. Grilled with salt is also steamy and delicious! However, please be sure to remove the bitter balls before eating ✋☺️ The fries and candied stew were especially delicious! The kanroni has a strong seasoning but is not overpowering and has a flavor that goes well with the rice, and the fries are freshly fried and have a nice texture.You can also enjoy the gentle flavor of the sweetfish. Third surprise service is friendly ☺ Grandma and uncle are running the business and drinking coffee after dinner? ☺️ I wanted to have it, but I had a bloated stomach and it was already the 10th minute, so I had to give up because I was too sensitive to caffeine... Grandma talked to me a few times and we had a relaxing time~☺️ There was no problem even if I didn't eat anything until after lunch the next day after eating here lol Maybe it would be okay if I didn't eat for a whole day... It's super voluminous, so if you want to enjoy ayu cuisine, please come by 😇 This amount is well worth the price 😙
