I've tried a lot of other ayu restaurants, but Omodaka's is by far the most delicious! The deep-fried sweetfish is crispy with the head and bones fried, and the meat is soft and delicious, something you won't find at other restaurants. I usually go to eat in the summer, but this year I went in mid-October, my first fall since my daughter was born. I have been visiting them every year for 10 years since my son was in elementary school, and this year I brought my daughter and 3-month-old grandson to visit. It's the first time I've caught ayu with young, which is unique to this time of year, and the flesh is larger than the one I get in the summer, so it's said that the ayu in the fall is the best. I've been to many different restaurants, but the sweetfish here is very delicious. The taste of natural sweetfish is different. In particular, when grilling sweetfish with salt, you can remove the bones as it is a natural sweetfish. The location is also great. Bamboo grows around it and it feels cool. There is a place near the river where you can go down and just put your feet in the river. There is no air conditioner, but the wind seems to come from the river, so there is a natural air conditioner. It's not that hot. Also, I went there around 1pm on Obon, and it was busier than other restaurants. The parking lot was also spacious. The amount of food in the course itself is less compared to other restaurants, but the quality is good and it is more delicious than other restaurants. On the way home, I took a dip in the nearby Itadori River Onsen. Monet's pond is also nearby. Recommended for those who want to travel slowly.

You can eat the best sweetfish in the best environment on the banks of the Itadori River. Menus are only available as sets or single items. There didn't seem to be any big fish in July, so there were no limited courses. I especially liked the fried chicken and rice porridge. The fried sweetfish is crispy and you can easily eat the bones. The soup stock has a nice aroma and goes well with beer. There is no air conditioner, but the windows are open and a nice breeze blows, so the environment is great. I will go again!
