Mino, Gifu, Japan｜Gujoya

What a find. I went for lunch on a public holiday during the COVID-19. The place was full within 15 minutes of opening. That may seem a long time, if you're in Tokyo. But in Mino, I can assure you, that is a very short period of time. This place checks all three boxes for a fabulous lunch. 1. Delicious. 2. Great sized portions (and variety). 3. Cheap. I ordered the Karaage Lunch Set (唐揚げランチセト). The Karaage was juicy and tasty. Came with two condiments. A homemade tartar sauce, and a salt and pepper mix. The tartar sauce was excellent. The set included so many other things along with the standard bowl of rice with a fish and sour plum dried topping and a bowl of miso soup. One of the best lunches I have ever had: at the price point, with that much food, and at that quality, anywhere.

I went to this restaurant because it was recommended by the staff when I was staying at Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Mino. The couple each had appetizers, tuna and squid sashimi, corn croquettes, chicken wings, salt-grilled atka mackerel, and a large draft beer and a highball for drinks. There were quite a few items that didn't have prices written on their menus, so I was a little scared when they told me they were at market prices, but they were very reasonable🥳This is a store I want to come back to. Everything was very delicious 🥰

I stayed at the Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Mino, but the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, so I was looking for a place to have dinner with my family and found this restaurant. The result is the correct answer. Compared to Tokyo, it is unbelievably reasonable and the taste is very delicious. The photo shows the sashimi set meal, but the garnish is carefully prepared and the level is high. I don't know the chawanmushi in the picture, but I was surprised that there were so many ingredients such as shrimp, ginkgo, white fish, and yam. My wife and child had a tempura set meal, which was also full of volume and wonderful. In addition, the interior is tasteful, so you can relax and enjoy your meal. The owner and the female staff who served the meal were very pleasant, and I fell in love with the town of Mino at once from the meal that night. I definitely recommend this shop.
