A friend came from Nagoya, so we went to Sarutobiso for lunch.Since it was a Saturday, we didn't have lunch on weekdays, so we ordered a 5,500 yen kaiseki meal. I enjoyed the delicious food and was captivated by the view of the river outside.

I have been coming here for half a century (since the previous generation) to enjoy sweetfish dishes. Reservations are required to enjoy freshly baked and fried food❗ Both the fried and salt-grilled dishes are delicious and you can bite them all over the head 🎵 Ayu takes a lot of time to prepare, so I think it's a good idea to let us know how much you'd like to order in advance when making a reservation...I think you'll be able to enjoy your meal more smoothly. The crunchy texture and flavor of the sashimi are unique to sweetfish...and the appearance is as expected from a kaiseki restaurant. If you would like to eat while looking at the river, please let us know when making your reservation. If you have small children, you may be able to ask for a small room, depending on the number of children. Once the sweetfish season is over, it's time for kaiseki cuisine. The autumn leaves 🍁 around the store are stunning. This time, smoked sweetfish was used in the rice porridge. It has a nice flavor combined with the scent of river seaweed. When you bite into the sweetfish, the flavor that oozes out from the meat is unique to smoked fish. It's also nice to be able to enjoy rice porridge without worrying about bones.

This time, my family and I used Sarutobiso, which we have been eating at for memorial services and other occasions. No matter when you eat kaiseki cuisine in spring, summer, autumn or winter, it looks and tastes impressive, but this time we had a course meal of sweetfish, a taste of summer, in the evening. The appetizers looked as beautiful and delicious as expected. All of the dishes were excellent in terms of heat, taste, and presentation, and the work was done with great care, and I thoroughly enjoyed the ayu. In particular, the ayu sashimi served with Tosa soy sauce and vinegared miso had a crunchy texture, and was impressively delicious as the flavor came out the more you chewed. We had a blissful time enjoying delicious sweetfish dishes while looking out at the Tsukechi River at sunset.
