Great food. Awesome team. Chef & wait staff always happy & laughing together even when busy. Good variety on the menu & fabulous to be able to watch the chef work.

Ate one of the best cream crab croquette’s I’ve ever had. We came in right before last order and they seated us and let us order with no problem. The chef was extremely friendly. Yaki gyoza was also amazing as well as the tare katsu !! Would go again with no hesitation

Every time I go to Joetsu, Ohkaken becomes a ``fixed meal restaurant'' rather than a ``fixed lodging''. The unique structure of the building is of course cool in the summer, and in the winter, the warmth of the stove is gentle on the cold body. The recommended item at this shop is the cream croquette shown in the second photo! However, I would like to recommend the grilled hamburger in the first photo as another personal favorite. The hamburger steak is not overflowing with meat juices, but is tightly packed, and the rice goes well with the demi-glace sauce! I sometimes eat other menu items (the third stewed hamburger, the fourth spicy curry), but I almost always get the grilled hamburger. Since there is only one chef (and the owner of this restaurant), it may take a while to serve food when it's crowded, but you can see the kitchen, so you can comfortably wait for your meal. It can be said that it is an indispensable presence in front of the slightly lonely Joetsu Myoko Station!
