Joetsu, Niigata, Japan｜温泉の有る割烹 新柳

In August, when my husband and I visited my grandmother's house to announce our marriage, she had made a reservation for lunch here, so we stopped by. When I was little, I remember going to the ramen shop on the first floor of Mr. Shinryanagi's house when I came to my grandmother's house, so I guess that's where it was? That's what I thought, but the kaiseki restaurant changed my mind. Since there was a group coming, he guided me to a quiet private room on the second floor. It was a sunny day, and I could see the lush rice ears and river beautifully from the private room I was shown to. The timing of the food was good and the taste was very good. I never expected to eat eel...it was a pleasant surprise. I was nervous when I visited Niigata to report on my marriage, but thanks to Mr. Niiyanagi's calm atmosphere and delicious food, my nerves eased and I was able to finish my report peacefully. Unfortunately, my grandmother passed away after that, but I am very happy that we were able to have a dinner party like that with Mr. Shinryanagi while she was still healthy, and it is an irreplaceable memory. I'm really thankful to you.
