Joetsu, Niigata, Japan｜Colt Aging beef & grill

We dined at Colt by accident the first time & were absolutely amazed at the quality of the food & the friendliness of the staff/owners. There was no English menu (I think they had never had Europeans in the restaurant before) but this was no problem as Kaori (server/owner) went out of her way to find us explanations for the dishes. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Colt so much so we went back 4 days later & found Kaori had translated the menu into English! Super service!! Highly recommend the Colt Salad. Amazing flavours & textures!! The meat is fabulous too. You won't be disappointed! Plan to go twice at least :) PS I've noticed that a lot of other reviews have commented on the price. We thought it was extremely good value for what we received. A fantastic dining experience!!! Thank you Kaori & Chef xx

The food was delicious. I don't know the details, but it is some kind of aged beef which is rarely in Niigata. It is very expensive but definitely worth every bite. The service was friendly and helpful. Also very fast. It was over all an amazing experience.

To celebrate my birthday, I reserved the aged beef course (¥6,000 per person) and went there to enjoy it! The appetizers look beautiful and are delicious! ! I think I would be satisfied with just the appetizer. The main aged meat was tender and delicious when dipped in charcoal salt. It wasn't heavy at all and I ate it easily. Currently, dinner is course only and reservations are required! Good atmosphere for anniversaries and dates ♡
