Uonuma, Niigata, Japan｜Roadside station Irihirose

2023/04/25(Tue) Sunny I stopped by in the afternoon. The weather was nice, so I went for a soft-serve ice cream inside the hotel and enjoyed it while looking out at Kagamigaike Pond (I wonder if the name is correct?). It was very rich and delicious ☺️ I have been here several times in the past, but this time I walked around the pond for the first time. As I walked, I wondered if the cherry blossoms would have been more beautiful if I had arrived a week earlier. There was still some snow left, but it felt great. 2023/10/24(Tue) Sunny This time, I visited in the afternoon. Perhaps because the weather was nice, there were many (unexpected) visitors. Rice was popular in the store and many people were buying it, so we bought some too. Since the weather was nice, I thought I would take a walk around the pond, but I decided against it after seeing the bear sighting notification. News of bear damage is being broadcast on TV every day... 2023/10/26 The rice is very delicious and I keep coming back 😋

When climbing Mt. Asakusa, I stopped by both ways. The shop sells Niigata products, local sake, souvenirs, soft serve ice cream, and mountain badges of Mt. Asakusa and Mt. Morikado. The parking space is relatively large, the location overlooking Kagamigaike Pond has a good atmosphere, and there is a restaurant where you can eat delicious soba, so it is convenient to use. There are several gas stations along the road from Koide Interchange. However, there is only one house right after leaving here to the Nezumochidaira parking lot on Mt. Asakusa.

Both the local delicacies, pressed mackerel sushi and goppo soba, were delicious. The staff was also kind and nice. This time I want to take a leisurely stroll.
