If your kanji is not up to snuff then I would say to bring a friend that knows their kanji. Choose hot or cold, portion size 1, 1.5, 2, and then your extras like meat, mountain vegetables, tempura, and many more. You pick up your tea cups under the counter at the front. The water or barley tea is already at the table. Then wait for your name to be called. After you eat you pay at the front where you placed your order. This place is packed on a weekend. Delicious food done right!
