(2023/08) "The Showa" dining room survived in such a place. I didn't know, ignorance. The taste is also nostalgic. It looks like it could be used as a Showa movie location. It's a shop run by a couple, but both of them seem to be doing well, so I think it will continue. A treasure of Japan that you want to remain forever.

As expected from the exterior, the interior is super retro, with time completely frozen in the Showa era. If there weren't monster ball magnets attached to the flat-screen LCD TV and refrigerator, I would have been fooled. The menu is incredibly varied, including soba and ramen (more than 15 types of each), rice bowls, stir-fried dishes, gyoza, omelet rice, and curry rice. I ordered tanmen (600 yen) and it tasted average, but the lady making it tasted it many times and added something to it each time. Maybe the taste isn't consistent...but that's good. The most mysterious tanmen, the taste of which changes every time you order it. This is the only place in the world where you can enjoy your very own tanmen. Seasonings such as pepper are worn out and the lids don't close properly, leaving them half-open. I found such sloppiness both reassuring and endearing. Is this love or... Of course, only cash is accepted. And the only customers around me were dusty old men who looked like they had traveled back in time from the Showa era, including myself. But it is good. Thank you for the meal.
