Hakone, Kanagawa, Japan｜Hamburg House

Great food, reasonable price, great service by the owner (old couple) and very friendly. Will recommend anyone in Hakone to try out this Japanese - western style. Cuisine especially the curry

It was a cold and overcast day and we were really craving some curry after hiking up from Hakonemachi. They have a full English menu and the family who run the place were very friendly and made us feel at home. They even helped us out with some more detailed maps than the ones we got at the train station. We had the shrimp curry and the pork curry and both were delicious. The plates are exactly as pictured, large servings, and you also get a side salad and chowder soup. We left very happy and I highly recommend you visit this place.

The pork cutlet curry was amazing. The owners were friendly and inviting. It's a small space but very cozy, a true mom and pop shop. Of all the dining experiences in Japan so far, this has been the best. Don't pass it up!
