Odawara, Kanagawa, Japan｜Gyoza Shop

It's so delicious. Staff is very kind. I love their smile. The beer is really good also, it's very cold and served in a frozen glass. Price is also very good. It's easy to visit while waiting for your train.

I've eaten at dozens of gyoza and ramen shops in Japan including Tokyo, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, Bizen, Nara, and more. This is hands-down my favorite gyoza shop. The man who runs it, Teru-san, is incredibly skilled and kind. The atmosphere is intimate and a real example of what's missing from larger izakaya and ramen shops. If you're ever in Odawara, make the trip to Kozu station and eat this food. You will not be disappointed.

The gyoza here are tightly packed, crunchy, and delicious! The photo shows gyoza, fried rice, and chashu wonton noodles topped with butter! It's been my go-to since childhood! It's a nice shop with a friendly old man, wife, and part-time worker who are all energetic and kind! Please stop by when you come to Kokufutsu!
