Kamakura, Kanagawa, Japan｜Hojo

I came to Oku-Kamakura thinking I was going to eat at an old private restaurant. From your seat, you can see 🐿️ and small birds in the garden, and it's a nice, quiet and peaceful place. For meals, I ordered Hayama beef stew and stewed hamburger steak. We had a relaxing weekend with rich flavors and delicate Kamakura vegetables. The chef was also a calm person and we had a great time.

I've been wanting to come here for about a year, and since I had something to do nearby, I finally made my first visit. I made a reservation the day before and visited on Sunday at 11am. When I arrived about 10 minutes before the store opened, the gate was still closed, and since it was more like an entrance to a private house than a store, I almost passed by. When we entered, there were tables lined up facing the garden. You can relax while watching the wild birds and squirrels that come to play in the garden. I wanted to eat both hamburger and beef stew, so I ordered the beef stew hamburger. I also ordered wine, but they also confirmed the timing for the wine to be served. Not only the beef stew and hamburger steak, but also the cold turnip soup and Kamakura vegetable salad were very delicious. Alcohol is limited to glass beer and wine. The only wine available was red, and it was said to be a wine made with beef stew. A light, fruity, easy-drinking wine that went well with the beef stew hamburger. After dinner, we had a lot of time to relax. It was a wonderful old folk house restaurant where even one person could relax.

It was featured on TV and had a nice atmosphere, so we went there for our anniversary. Apparently there had been a cancellation due to bad weather the day before, which had affected various routes, so we were the only customers. The capacity is said to be 8 people. I ordered the beef stew and hamburger course. The stew was rich and the hamburger steak was juicy and delicious, but I think the Kamakura vegetable soup and salad are actually the main attraction here. Both the Kapu soup and the Kamakura carrot salad were elegant and very delicious. The owner and his wife were friendly and made us feel very comfortable.
