Higashiomi, Shiga, Japan｜Eigenji Soba

This is a shop that caught my attention when I saw it on my soba tour. Is the soba 100%? It's crunchy, rich in flavor, and goes down your throat smoothly. I can't help but eat it all at once, and next time I want to enjoy it while eating it. I've been eating around Shiga Prefecture, and I've come across some delicious soba noodles. I think this is a masterpiece among them. The tempura shrimp are plump and the maitake mushrooms are exquisite! I would like to serve it with white rice and make it into a tempura bowl. The tempura is so delicious. I recommend the tempura soba.

I stopped by on the way back from Hitomi Winery. The zaru soba was chewy and delicious. Next door was a small shop selling local wild plants and vegetables. There were bracken, bamboo shoots, and wild bamboo shoots. There were two kind aunties looking after the store. 700 yen for 3 bamboo shoots is super cheap!

Zaru soba was chewy and delicious. Maitake heaven was also crispy.
