Immediately we received a very warm welcome from the staff. Both were kind and smiling and the smell of herbs and spices from the kitchen was incredible.The decor and lighting was nice and made us feel like we had left Japan and entered into a different country ( I always like it when a restaurant makes me feel this way, especially in Japan ). We ordered a special curry set which came with two deliciously sweet savoury cheese naan breads. The curry was aromatic and authentically flavoured and made fresh to order. It came with small side of Tandoori chicken (which was well flavoured and juicy) and a very refreshing salad which was a perfect palate cleanser, it had a dressing that I had never tasted before and it was lovely. Our dishes were also complemented with extra chilli powder and an amazing chilli chutney on the side so we could add to our own desire. The chilli chutney was incredible, I could really taste the slight sweetness and the flavour of the chilli without being overwhelmed by the spice. I am not usually a big fan of very spicy food but I was very impressed with the chilli chutney, and the curries themselves were perfectly balanced. I ordered a Saag chicken curry which had a very unique but exquisite refreshing flavour, I was thoroughly impressed with the freshness of the flavours. It came with good portion of white rice too. The portion sizes were very generous and was the perfect amount of food. We ordered a mango lassi drink which was very refreshing and was a good companion to the curries to balance out the spices with a nice cold refreshing sweet beverage. Overall the Service, Food, atmosphere, value for money and the experience was one I would definitely recommend if in the Hikone area and in the mood for some Indian/Nepalese cuisine. I would happily return here another time. 5/5 Stars, well deserved.
