Nagahama, Shiga, Japan｜伊と咲の(いとえの)

Amazing people, food, atmosphere! We stopped here while bike riding around Lake Biwa and could not have imagined a better experience if we tried. We arrived and were quickly sat and served green tea, only to realize they only take cash and we had just spent our last cash renting our bikes. We decided we HAD to eat at this restaurant, so we biked to an ATM (10 kilometers total) so we could take out cash. Any plan that didn’t involve going back here was not an option. When we got back, the owners were shocked to see us back, but also told us they had sold out of all their food for the day! However, through Google Translate, they were able to tell us they had 1 soba meal left for us if we wanted it. It was an easy yes and we were quickly sat. We were given more green tea and water, and were served an incredible meal of the best tempura veggies, soba, rice, soba broth, etc. It was all incredible. We got to talking and they found out it was our first time in Japan and our honeymoon. The owner immediately ran upstairs and drew us beautiful calligraphy that she blow dried to rush the drying process so she could give it to us to take away with us. This husband and wife pair showed us what true Japanese hospitality is, and how kind people can be. We will never forget them, their food, their beautiful restaurant, the gorgeous views in an idyllic location. We will be reminded of our favorite experience and favorite meal in Japan every time we look at our wall with the beautiful handmade artwork on it. Thank you!!!! Arigato gozaimasu!!

We stopped here by chance on our bicycle ride around Lake Biwa and we were blown away by the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the charming hospitality of the hosts, a wonderful place to eat and we’re so glad we stopped by! The tempura was light and crispy, the soba were silky smooth and the flavour of the soup was delicious, not to mention the yummy matcha cake for pudding - we think this is one of the best meals we have eaten in Japan so go there if you get the chance!

It was a really nice shop and the view was great! Of course, the soba noodles are also delicious! The customer service was very nice and I felt comfortable and relaxed, so it was definitely my favorite restaurant! ! It's a bit far away, but I'd like to visit again next time while looking at Lake Biwa! ! The store has convenient parking and is easy to visit by car.
