Toyosato, Shiga, Japan｜Tamaya

I stopped by here to grab lunch after visiting the K-ON!! school (former Toyosato Elementary). I misread the train schedule thinking I had enough time to eat when I did not. I realized my mistake right as they brought out the okayu I ordered. I informed them I had just a few minutes to run to the station. I offered to pay for the food regardless but they said I did not need to. I offered to at least pay for the tea I had but they said to not worry about it. Needless to say this place has great customer service. They have a mix of western and traditional Japanese seating available. They have some K-on related pictures and memorabilia hung up throughout the place, a nice touch. My experience here was incomplete and short but satisfactory nonetheless. If you are visiting the school in the afternoon my advice is to stop by here first and then head on over to the school.

Really tasty udon and soba, the owner and staff were very friendly. The menu is in Japanese only, but with our very basic Japanese and some help from the owner we had a delicious lunch!

One and the only one restaurant in Toyosato. There are lots of K-ON poster in the restaurant. You can enjoy your food with K-ON characters there.
