Maibara, Shiga, Japan｜Yoichi

Thank you for welcoming me to your restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, food and staff. My highlight was the takenoko (bamboo shoot) - without a doubt the best I have ever tasted. I hope I get the opportunity to visit again.

The chicken served here is not an animal but a work of art—a play in three acts: raw, grilled, and fried. Each is beautiful. Each worth savoring. At the end of the show you realize that this is the best chicken (& daikon!) you’ve ever had and you begin fantasizing about your return. And I will return, the next time I’m in Japan. It’s a place worthy of the trip.

Nice service and the yakitori was super tasty. They had a good range of menu options and drinks available as well.
