Yamanakako, Yamanashi, Japan｜Oomori

I chanced upon this restaurant while making my way to lake yamanaka. It was raining heavily and the piping hot tempura udon was super satisfying at just 400yen!! This place is only open 3 hours daily but constantly has a steady stream of locals coming in, not to mention run by a Japanese family who was also so kind to give me an umbrella to continue my journey. Thank you so much for your hospitality and amazing food :') Will definitely be back if I happen to be in the area in future :)

Revisited on a Saturday in October 2022. When I arrived after 13:00, there was already a closed sign... When I visited two weeks ago at 14:00, it was closed. Have your business hours changed? It is a popular restaurant loved by locals. 4 seats at the counter, 2 tables for 4 people, 2 tatami mats for 4 people. Although the letters are different, it is a shop with a large serving. This time I had the cutlet bowl, but the amount of curry is also large, so you need to be prepared when you want a large serving. I remember that the amount of udon (noodles) was also large. The only drawback is that the opening hours are short. There is also a hidden menu that is not on the menu on the wall (laughs).

A large portion of cutlet bowl is quite large ... .... However, it was so delicious that I ate it in seconds 😋👏 There are rules in the store, and many people order first. Please wait here until grandma hears the order. If you try to order first, you will get angry. All of the large servings are quite large, so If you are not confident that you can eat it all, please ask for a regular serving. If you ask for a large serving and leave it, you will be banned from one chan.
