Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi, Japan｜Hoto Dai

Wow! What an amazing place! It was my first time coming here and they truly serve authentic houtou with generous amount of vegetables! I have made houtou traditionally in Yamanashi and as a Japanese, I can certify it's one of the best places to eat authentic houtou food! It was meant to open at 11:00am, but they were super welcome to let me in before the opening hours! ⸜(*ˊᵕˋ*)⸝ᵗʱᵃᵑᵏᵧₒᵤ

Chanced upon this restaurant during our day trip in Kawaguchiko. Excellent find. Hoto noodles are true to the other reviews. Hot soup, well seasoned vegetables and hand made noodles can’t go wrong on a cold winter day. Definitely go for the tempura too, very light batter and fresh ingredients. Might be the best tempura I had this trip 👍🏼 We ordered a few drinks to pair with lunch so it became slightly pricier. Try a local brewed sake made with Fuji water while you’re there.

Did not expect this to be the best restaurant we’ve ate at during our 3 weeks visiting Japan. Very good price, noodles are homemade, and generous on ingredients. P.s in the photo , I already ate half of it so the portion size is bigger than seen
