Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan｜Yamanashi Restaurant meli-melo

I went here on the recommendation of a friend and ordered the roast steak with red Mt. Fuji grape juice. I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that it was the best meal I've ever had in my life. I've lived in Europe and eaten much more expensive meals in France, Germany, and Italy that didn't even come close to the quality of Meli-Melo. And the meal here only cost me 3000 yen. I don't mean to sound melodramatic, but Ave Maria came on the radio in the restaurant right when I started eating the roast steak and it was such a beautiful experience that I will never forget it. The service was also amazing. I'm an American and my Japanese is still fairly poor, but the waitress and the chef were very patient with me and explained the menu items in a way that I could understand. I will definitely be going again.

3 minutes walk from the north exit of Kofu Station. Casual french food cafe/restaurant. Unique menu, presented beautifully, made from fresh vegetables sourced locally and Koshu wine beef or shingendori. There are counter seats and table seats. It is housed in a building that was constructed to be a new landmark for Kofu, replicating the old castle town setting of about an hundred years ago.

Tasty, well presented, and healthy. Lots of locally sourced veggies. Defo will go back
