Koshu, Yamanashi, Japan｜Sobamaru

Beautiful restaurant! It gets super busy so make sure you or someone from your party writes your name down an hour or two in advance. The soba was so delicious, it has such a fresh chewy texture, and they will also serve you the soba-Yu and soba-cha. If you are lucky you can also see the chef freshly prepare the soba from the dough at the entrance through the big window.

The location is conveniently located at Enzan in Yamanashi. My recommendation are their cold soba and mega tempura.

I visited on a Friday just before 2 o'clock. I was prepared to wait in line after reading the reviews, but miraculously I entered the store without having to wait. We were carefully guided into the calm interior of the store, which resembles an old folk house. Select shrimp tempura, cold soba (100g), and vegetable tempura. (Actually, I wanted to go to 200g, but it was night so I had to hold off...) Served without too much of a wait. Soba was really delicious. The aroma of soba and the sweetness that you feel when you chew it carefully. It was really good soba. The tempura was also crispy and delicious. I could barely resist a second helping of soba. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice, and the soba and tempura are delicious. I definitely want to go again, even though I can't go there often because it's far away. There was a foreign woman who came to the store by herself, and I was impressed to see her eating soba with a really delicious smile and it made me feel warm 😄
