Nice local restaurant with local food. People don't speak English but it's not necessary, as they're super friendly.

Although it was still early in the fall foliage season, I came all the way here to try the Gohei mochi from this shop, and I received some Gohei mochi. This time we had Gohei mochi and miso konjac, but the Gohei mochi set meal is highly recommended! Gohei mochi is seasoned with sesame miso and has a very strong flavor. The rice was slightly burnt and crispy, and the miso matched perfectly and was extremely delicious. It was my first time to try miso dengaku, but this miso has a different depth to it than Gohei mochi, and it intertwines with the konnyaku and is really delicious. Next time, I would like to have a set of soba, salt-grilled sweetfish, and Gohei mochi.

At Hinoki Chaya in Korankei, Hinoki set meal, wild vegetable soba, I ate Gohei mochi. The Hinoki set meal comes with a choice of soba or udon, Gohei mochi, simmered dishes, pickles, and salt-grilled sweetfish. The wild vegetable soba also contains wild vegetables and udon, and is very delicious. Warm and cold soba, You can choose udon, but I like it even if it's hot. I love warm wild vegetable soba. It was delicious today too. There are times when we don't have Hinoki set meals.
